Maximizing Each Learning Style
Spatial or visual learners are good at deciphering data from maps and graphs. They excel in geometry, but they struggle with numbers in general. Though these learners are a bit late in writing and reading, they think outside of the box, and they have rich imaginations. These people usually use phrases like “show me,” and they typically perform tasks better when they see the final output first.
For better visual learning, do the following:
- Use digital tools and technology.
- Create outlines and highlight or color-code books to organize the materials.
- Use graphs and charts.
- Use infographics and diagrams.
- Use flashcards for reviewing.
On the other hand, verbal learners are skilled in speaking, listening, and writing. They have a way with words and an excellent memory of all things written. Verbal learners love speech, drama, and writing classes.

Learners that are skilled in logic enjoy mathematics and rational reasoning. Musical or audio learners can process sounds faster compared to processing images. They perform better in chronological processes, and they think the same way. Embodying the essence of a team player, interpersonal learners absorb knowledge best when they are working along with others. They are also gifted at reading the emotions and expressions of other people. They are also skilled in knowing the dynamics of various relationships.
For better social learning, do the following:
- Use role-playing scenarios and acting out scenes.
- Share knowledge with others and teach them what you have learned.

Also known as solitary learning, this refers to individuals who thrive more when they are studying alone. These persons are inclined and in touch with their own feelings, skills, abilities, and the essence of who they are. These learners are independent, and they prefer self-reflection and self-management.
For better intrapersonal learning, do the following:
- Provide a learning log or a study journal.
- Find a quiet place for studying on your own.

Physical learners love movement, and they learn better if they have something to do with their hands. Usually, they learn best when they are creating artwork and utilizing space where they can read, write, paint, and design. To retain things to their mind, kinesthetic learners tend to pace around the room.
