If you are on the market for a new iPhone 12, you certainly have noticed that there is a big price difference between different versions. The price of iPhone 12 in Singapore is the same as in other regions and depending on which one you pick, you may pay more or less.
Storage and Pricing Fluctuations
The biggest factor that makes one iPhone 12 more expensive than another is the internal storage it comes with. This rule applies to iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. All of them have minimum internal storage you can get them with.
For the standard version of the iPhone 12, you have the option to get it with 64, 128, or 256 GB of internal storage. The RAM is the same across all variants and it is limited to 4 GB. The storage is the only factor determining the price difference between different versions of the iPhone 12.
If we were to compare it with the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 12 Pro looks the same but has an extra camera on the back and the minimum internal storage you can get it with is 128 GB.
How Much Should You Pay For a New iPhone 12?
If you want to get the iPhone 12 right away, you can get it from Apple Singapore. The 64 GB version is S$1,299. The 128 GB one is S$1,369 while the top-spec one with 256 GB of internal storage is S$1,539. Do not be tempted to think that you can get the 64 GB one because it is cheaper and save S$240 in the process by adding a memory card. The iPhone 12 does not have a memory card slot. No iPhone ever had the option to expand internal storage.
Not Willing to Pay Retail Price?
There is an option for that as well. The price of iPhone 12 in Singapore is all over the place. You can find it much more expensive than the pricing listed on the official Apple website but you can also get it for much lower than that. What you can do is to get it from a carrier. Most major carriers have it listed in their online shops. They also offer it as a package consisting of the phone and a 24-month contract. Depending on the base plan you choose along with the iPhone 12, you can get a discount and get it much cheaper.
Some carriers even offer the iPhone 12 with S$ upfront and even monthly payments. If you go for a premium base plan, you can even get it for free. It would be wise to compare offers since not all offers are advantageous. Some may look good on paper but in reality, they might not be a good deal at all. Once you decide how you want to purchase it, keep a close eye on stocks, especially if you want the purple one. The price of iPhone 12 in Singapore has not decreased since the launch in late 2020 especially since Apple launched new colors for it, giving them an excuse to maintain the same price for the device.
